How to Prepare Your Clothing Brand for Black Friday

Prepare a clothing brand for Black Friday 2026 by counting every size, checking stock in before November 27, and keeping Shopify matched to the shelf.

By Atiya Rehman

Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, and every size on the product page has to match a unit on the shelf before it opens. That match is how you prepare your clothing brand for Black Friday. Small Business Saturday is November 28, and Cyber Monday is November 30.

Count the sizes first.

Six steps to a smooth Black Friday: forecast orders, count inventory, stock packaging, set expectations, plan for breaks, and outsource early, from Nov 27 to Nov 30.

Forecast Black Friday orders by size and color

A Black Friday forecast for a clothing brand comes from last year's orders from Black Friday through Cyber Monday, split by product, size, and color. A first major sale can start from the last promotion that sold through a size run.

Note which product moved, and in which size and color. Black Friday may hold most of the orders, or the count may keep climbing through Monday.

If a normal day is 50 orders, write the pack plan for 150 on Friday. One hundred fifty single-item Shopify orders are $262.50 in fulfillment at $1.75 per order. Over 1,000 orders, that rate is $1.50, so the same 150 orders are $225. Both rates are on the pricing page.

Plan for your busiest day, not your average day: review last year from Black Friday to Cyber Monday, find best sellers by size and color, and plan for your peak, ready for 150 orders, not 50.

Four weeks before November 27, write that forecast and reorder the sizes that sold out last time.

Count each size before Shopify shows it in stock

Clothing inventory before Black Friday is a count of each SKU, color, and size, set next to what Shopify shows as available. A medium the page still lists, with none on the shelf, is a refund on Friday morning.

We count inbound cartons by SKU, color, and size, and we check that count against the receipt before the units are sellable. For clothing brand fulfillment, check-in is the day the carton arrives, so a Friday drop can go live on units that are already on the shelf.

Shopify orders come in by variant. The sellable count syncs, so a size that hits zero on the shelf comes off the product page. Sell a size on eBay or another connected channel and it comes off Shopify too. How auto-delisting stops overselling is the path for those other listings.

Do the physical count four weeks out. During Black Friday week, check the sizes that are moving and match them to Shopify again each day.

How much packaging should you have for Black Friday?

Plan on 1.5 to 2 times the packages in your Black Friday order forecast. How far you go between 1.5 and 2 times depends on your budget, your space, and how fast you can restock supplies.

SupplyPrice
TissueFree
Poly mailer$0.30
Small box (15x12x6)$1.00
Medium box (15x15x15)$2.00
Large box (20x16x8)$2.50
XL box (24x20x20)$4.00

For 150 orders, 1.5 times is 225 poly mailers, which is $67.50. Two times is 300 mailers, which is $90. You can send your own mailers, boxes, tissue, stickers, and inserts. An insert we add is $0.15. The packing setup on the product is the fold, whether it ships in a mailer or a box, and which tissue and insert go with it.

Order that packaging four weeks before November 27. During Black Friday week, check the mailers and boxes you have left each day.

How long do Black Friday clothing orders take to ship?

Black Friday clothing orders that are already checked in leave with an average turnaround under 24 hours. If you're still packing the sale yourself, put your own processing time on the product page before the customer pays.

A brand packing at home might write: "Black Friday orders may take 3-5 business days to process before shipping." Expedited postage changes the carrier's transit. The pack still happens before that label goes on. If those orders are still on your floor, book the extra help two weeks out and keep the weekend clear for packing.

At ShipNinja, 99.4% of orders have left within SLA, and the tracking number goes back to the storefront. Postage is billed at cost. You can also upload the label with the order.

Two weeks before November 27, place a test order and read the confirmation. The line on the product page and the email should say the same thing.

What changes when Friday goes from 50 orders to 150

When a clothing brand's Friday goes from 50 orders to 150, each unit is picked to that order and folded to the spec on the product. Across more than 72,000 orders, pick accuracy is 99.97%.

A Shopify order is $1.75, and each extra unit in it is $0.50. A hoodie and a tee can stay as two SKUs until pick, then ship in one package. Kitting that set is $1. We pack that order as DTC fulfillment.

A returned hoodie comes back to your receiving address. We count it and log it. A unit that matches the receipt goes back on the shelf, so that size can sell on Shopify again.

Write the replies for size and delivery questions two weeks before November 27. Use the processing time from the product page. A "where is my order" reply sends the tracking number from the shipment.

Receive the size run before Black Friday week

A clothing brand that wants the warehouse to pack Black Friday needs the size run checked in before that week. Connect Shopify and run a test order before November 27.

Receiving is $0.50 per unit. We count the carton the day it arrives.

Storage for a clothing brand is free for the first 30 days, then $0.02 per unit per day. A unit received on November 1 is still inside those 30 days on November 27.

Shopify connects directly. A channel without a direct connection ships when you upload the label. Read 7 signs your sneaker or clothing business needs a 3PL if packing at home is already the whole week.

From November 27 through November 30, the Shopify count follows the shelf. A size that hits zero comes off the product page.

Send your size run and the Friday order count you're planning for, and we'll quote receiving, storage, and fulfillment for that volume.
